He is the most famous living Cuban artist. After graduating in 1971 from the National School of Art in Havana, he focused on an expressionist period, in which he also worked in theater, and ranged in painting, decoration, graphics and design, to then definitively flow into hyperrealist painting, focused on tropical landscapes, forests, lakes, waterfalls, etc., always with a contemplative and meditative look, in symbiosis with the natural environment. He has had many personal exhibitions in Spain, Greece, Austria, the United States and Cuba, where he occupies an entire room at the National Art Museum of Havana. In 1998 he received the XIX "Juan Mirò" Award at the International Exhibition in Barcelona (Spain) and many other awards in Cuba. He lives and works in Florida and Costa Rica.
