Shlomo was born in Jerusalem in 1961; he studied Middle Eastern History at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and Photography at Hadassa Community College in Jerusalem. From 1990 to 1997 he lived and worked in Milan, before moving to New York in 1998 and establishing his own studio in Brooklyn, creating a multidisciplinary art that encompasses sculpture, photography, installations, painting and multimedia works. In recent years his interest has focused mainly on the theme of the metamorphosis of forms and materials, creating bold and fascinating interrelations between art and industry, in a constant attempt to challenge their limits and boundaries. Investigating different industrial materials, including aluminum, bronze and steel, the artist mixes everyday objects and subjects in his work, and manipulates them to move away from the archetype and give life to new and unexpected representations with metamorphoses of forms, materials and even lights.
