MARCO LODOLA Dorno (PV) 1955

He was born in Dorno (Pavia) in 1955. He studied at the Florence and Milan Academies of Fine Art. In the early 80’s he was one of the artists who founded the Nuovo Futurismo movement, the theoretical spokesman of which was the critic Renato Barilli. As a member of Nuovo Futurismo he exhibited in such major Italian and European cities as Rome, Florence, Bologna, Lyons, Vienna, Madrid and Amsterdam. In 1994 he was invited by the Government of the Republic of China to hold an exhibition in the ex-Archives of the Imperial City of Beijing. Marco Lodola has also participated at exhibition promoted by companies such as Swatch, Coca Cola, Vini Ferrari and Snoopy. In 1996 he began a series of exhibitions in America, showing his work in Miami, Boca-Raton and the Marisa del Re Gallery in New York. He participated in the 12th Rome Quadriennale and in the 6th Montecarlo Sculpture Biennal. His works have also enjoyed great success in the world of publishing: since making the acquaintance of the writer Marco Lodoli he has designed the cover of his most recent novels. One of Lodola’s works was also chosen to be on the cover of a volume of writings by the seventeenth century Japanese writer Ihara Saukaku, published by Fassinelli in its I Classici series (series editor: Aldo Busi)
